OPEN LETTER TO CONGRESSMAN YOHO; FROM YOUR GAINESVILLE CONSTITUENT SANDY PARKER

Consenting silence

President Trump divulged information to an adversary, Russia. This was intelligence that was intended to be shared only between our closest allies. Trump admitted the action, one that will make those allies less inclined to share highly sensitive material with us going forward and has severely jeopardized ongoing intelligence operations.

There has not been a peep from Congressman Ted Yoho. Last year, Yoho penned a column in The Sun after introducing a bill to censure President Obama for his handling of ISIS. In it Yoho stated that “[p]art of my job, as a representative of my district, is to hold our president accountable; regardless of party.”

It’s easy to criticize a president when he’s from the opposing party and there is no chance they are going to pass your pet legislation. But now that there is a president who is willing to play ball and sign on to Yoho’s libertarian economic demands, we have consenting silence.
