Indivisible Gainesville calls Marco Rubio out on Twitter

Senator Marco Rubio sent out a survey today (“Paid For By Marco Rubio For Senate”), so we thought we would share a few of the survey questions with you. We have a lot to say in answer to the questions we’ve outlined below. Let us know what YOU think.

Join us on Twitter, https://twitter.com/indivisiblegnv, for an ignited discussion that’s going on right now! You can find Rubio’s full survey here: http://landing.marcorubio.com/june-survey/

Question 1: Select the following issues you believe Republican Senators should focus on this year. Here are his choices…

– Strengthening border security

– Replacing ObamaCare

– Tax reform

– Rolling back Obama era regulations that are choking U.S. businesses

– Balancing the federal budget

– Ensuring confirmation of conservative judicial appointments to the federal courts

– Cutting wasteful government spending

– Rebuilding our military preparedness

– Renegotiating trade treaties like NAFTA to help create American jobs

– Reducing the corporate tax rate to get the economy growing

Indivisible Gainesville’s comment:

“The GOP will propose more cuts, but won’t invest in our future. Education, environmental protections, women’s health, infrastructure, domestic terrorism, these are things that matter to the American people, too!”

Question 3: Do you believe that Democrats in the U.S. Senate have any intention to put aside partisanship and work with Republicans and President Trump to address the needs of the American people?

  • Yes
  • No
  • No Opinion

Indivisible Gainesville’s comment:

“Does President Trump and the GOP have any intention of addressing the needs of the American people? Perhaps Sen. Rubio can prove HE wants to address the needs of Americans by putting aside partisanship, voting down the AHCA and working WITH the Senate Democrats to fix the Affordable Care Act rather than take healthcare away from millions and increase premiums for older Americans.”

Question 4: Do you believe Republicans in the U.S. Senate should continue to change Senate rules as necessary to overcome liberal Democrat obstructionism that is blocking efforts to address the needs and interests of the American people?

  • Yes
  • No
  • No Opinion

Indivisible Gainesville’s Comment:

Let us fix this grossly biased question for you, Senator: “Should the GOP continually change Senate Rules that gives their party the advantage, while they do nothing to address the needs and interests of the American people?” You’re welcome.

Question 7: Should President Trump and Republicans repeal federal environmental regulations put in place by radical extremists in the Obama Administration that have devastated the coal industry?

  • Yes
  • No
  • No Opinion

Indivisible Gainesville’s Comment:

“When the Kentucky Coal Museum goes solar, maybe that’s a sign that the US needs to start investing more in clean energy. Renewable energy creates jobs. In fact, more Americans currently work in solar power than in coal production. And by the way, there are very few job opportunities on a dead planet.”

Last Question: Has your confidence in the future of the nation increased since President Trump and Republicans began working to dismantle the Obama legacy and implement conservative reforms and policies?

  • Yes
  • No
  • No Opinion

Indivisible Gainesville’s Comment:

“Finally, a member of the GOP admits that his party is actively trying to erase the Obama legacy.  We knew it all along, but now we have proof that this is more important to the GOP than bipartisan efforts to help ALL citizens of the United States!”
