What’s Happening This Week: Jan 21 – 26

FEDERAL

The biggest crisis continues to be the government shutdown. Both the House and Senate cancelled their recess week in case they need to vote on an end to the shutdown.

This week is a Legislative Committee Week. One of the committees that will be meeting is the Criminal Justice Committee, which is chaired by Keith Perry. They will be discussing Amendment 4. It is unclear what exactly it is they will be discussing. The agenda is here.

LOCAL

Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative MarchJoin us as we celebrate the legacy of one of our greatest Americans. Wear your Indivisible Gainesville shirt! March will begin at Bo Diddley Plaza at 1pm. It will end at the MLK Multi-Purpose Center near Citizen’s Field.
