STATE

And just like that, the 2019 Florida Legislative Session is upon us! The session officially begins Tuesday. Here are a couple of articles that introduce some of the themes the session promises to deal with, as well as some specific bills.

And we’re going to once again share some of the sources for state politics with you. If we left any of your favorites out, let us know.

And of course, we also recommend going straight to the source to track legislation that interests or concerns you:

FEDERAL

The House will be having multiple hearings as they prep the 2020 budget.

The Senate, meanwhile, has 18 days from last Tuesday (February 26) to vote on Trump’s (Fake) National Emergency declaration. Although there likely won’t be a vote on the matter this week, an interesting development has taken place: Senator Rand Paul appears to have joined four other Republicans who have announced their plans to vote to oppose the (Fake) National Emergency. More info can be found here. Before you get too excited, Paul has led us down this road before, only to change his mind.
