Yoho’s Endorsement of Roy Moore Was Indefensible Even Before the Allegations Surfaced.

Back in September, US Representative Ted Yoho endorsed Roy Moore: “Judge Roy Moore is a proven conservative leader. He refused to bow to political pressure in Montgomery, and he will refuse to bow to political pressure in Washington. We need men like Judge Moore in the Senate to advance the conservative policies America sent us here to enact…I am proud to endorse Judge Moore and look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with him to fight for America, and against the failed status quo of Washington.”

I know what you’re thinking: But that was September. This was before the child molestation accusations. True. But if we factor in what Yoho surely knew about Roy Moore, his endorsement is still alarming.   Read more

Call to Action: The DREAMers Need Our Help Now!

CALL TO ACTION: Tell Congressman Yoho to support the American Hope Act of 2017 (HR 3591) and protect DREAMers! Please contact him by calling his DC office at (202)225-5744; his Gainesville office at (352)505-0838; or email him through his website. https://yoho.house.gov/contact.

Here is the backstory: Because of Congressional unwillingness to pass an immigration plan, specifically one that contains a resolution for dealing with children (commonly referred to as DREAMers) who were brought into the United States by undocumented immigrant parents, then-President Obama issued two directives. One directive in 2012 that provided temporary protection from detainment or deportation to those children (the DACA directive) and another in 2014 that applied to undocumented parents of children born in the US (the DAPA directive). Rep. Ted Yoho lied to his constituents

Our very own member of Indivisible Gainesville, Sara Walters, has a terrific blog, and she has written a great piece that we’d like to share with you called “Rep. Ted Yoho Lied to his Constituents” which points out Yoho’s obvious untruthful tactics in order to get good press coverage. It’s an important read, and we support her willingness to share her thoughts. We encourage you to follow her blog – we certainly intend to!

Mom Takes A Stand

During a town hall in Gainesville on April 10, 2017, Rep. Ted Yoho said that he agreed with the need for the President to release his tax returns.  He even signed on as a co-sponsor of HR 305, the Presidential Tax Transparency Act.

When it came time to take the next step, however, Rep. Yoho was forced to show that he lied. You see, HR 305 has been stuck in committee since January.  So, the bill’s sponsor created a discharge motion, to move the bill directly to a floor vote. It needs 218 signatures to move the bill to the floor for a vote.  As of May 16, 2017, it has 191 signatures – but Yoho’s isn’t one of them.

Why would someone who says he supports the release of the President’s taxes, and has co-sponsored the bill, not want to take the next step to move the bill…

OPEN LETTER TO CONGRESSMAN YOHO; FROM YOUR GAINESVILLE CONSTITUENT SANDY PARKER

Consenting silence

President Trump divulged information to an adversary, Russia. This was intelligence that was intended to be shared only between our closest allies. Trump admitted the action, one that will make those allies less inclined to share highly sensitive material with us going forward and has severely jeopardized ongoing intelligence operations.
